Welcome to janicerobinsonstudio.com. My home and studio are located in Orient Point, on the easternmost tip of Long Island, New York. It’s a special place to live and paint. After graduating from art school in 1980, my parents gave me a trip to Europe—first to Paris...from there I took a train to Monet’s Giverny. While staying on a barge on the Seine I visited the museums of Paris, Florence and Amsterdam; but it was to Italy I longed to return.

For the past 10 years I have been traveling within Italy 2-3 times a year, and most recently I took a one-year sabbatical which I spent living and painting in various places in Italy, Sicily and Sardinia. During that year I immersed myself in the art, archeology, festivals and traditions, music, but most of all shared the legendary warmth of the Italians. Some of these things are naturally reflected in my work.

Though raising a family took precedence in the 80s and 90s I had several exhibits of my drawings and paintings. Only recently have I been able to make painting the priority I vowed it would be since my formal training over 25 years ago..I hope you enjoy the paintings, drawings, photos and Italian journeys.
